Developing Globally Competitive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

How can Indonesia create an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and enables Indonesian businesses to compete globally? What approaches are needed to improve the productivity of micro, small and medium enterprises and promote innovation?

Supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises can help create new jobs, drive innovation, increase productivity and enable Indonesian businesses to compete internationally. Indonesia offers huge opportunities for new businesses, but the number of entrepreneurs is still relatively limited, and many businesses fail in the early stages. Local products are not always competitive internationally, so businesses have not yet been able to take full advantage of opportunities to export goods and services to international markets. To support the growth of entrepreneurship, Indonesia needs to create an ecosystem which makes it easier for entrepreneurs to start and scale up their businesses, and provides business owners with access to training, mentoring, finance and networks.
