KSI Provides Travel Funds for Persons with Disabilities at the IDF 2019

June 17, 2019

The Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) seeks to ensure that persons with disabilities are represented in the Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) event on July 22-23 2019, at Balai Sidang, Jakarta Convention Center. For that, KSI is looking for Expression of Interest from representatives of Disabled People's Organizations (DPO) in Indonesia and disability supporters to attend IDF 2019. This funding support confirms IDF 2019 commitment to become an inclusive forum with the theme Mission Possible: Utilizing Future Employment Opportunities to Encourage Inclusive Growth.

KSI provides travel funds to support transportation and accommodation costs for DPO representatives to attend IDF 2019. The fund, however, does not include food and miscellaneous costs as these have to be self-prepared by the DPO representatives.

DPO representatives that are from the outer Jakarta Region (Jabodetabek) will be provided travel and accommodation costs by KSI. As for DPO representatives from the Jabodetabek area, KSI provides local transportation costs. Accommodation can also be provided, subject to terms and conditions. KSI also welcomes persons with disabilities who are able and interested in attending the forum at their own expense. IDF 2019 will provide a variety of supporting facilities for persons with disabilities that will attend the event (ie. sign language interpreter).

IDF 2019 is an international conference organized by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) supported by the Australian Government through KSI. The Indonesia Development Forum 2019 aims to generate ideas and insights to prepare future workers, create decent jobs, encourage structural transformation, and ensure development outcomes that are fair, inclusive and sustainable. In creating inclusive employment opportunities, equality is promoted to remove barriers for women, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
