DisaFarm, Empowering People with Physical Disabilities

"DisaFarm” powered by JogjaSDGs is aiming to empower physical disability in the sub-village named Dusun Sidorejo, Lendah-Kulonprogo. We have witnessed high levels of unemployment among People With Physical Disabilities in that village. We would like to have them to unleash the potential of the vegetable farming zone to help them to be more economically sustain and increase their household income. Hence we can solve the social caused by economic problems of low rate income and unemployment with one hit. We build a greenhouse and that can be planted with vegetables. They can start with seeding to harvest and eventually create cooperatives that they manage themselves. “DisaFarm” has target to empower 200 physical disabilities (25-65 years old) whose success can be measured at the individual level through an income survey using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) using instruments: questionnaire and in-depth interview. Profit of 20% will be used as capital to educate physical disabilities in reading and writing through education workshop. The rest will be accommodated to them by providing minilibrary for preparing them to take the equivalency education exam (package A, B, C), earn their certificate of completion, and leadership incubators which are divided into Sustainable impact, decision making, packaging, strategic plan, and marketing.
