On-Line Entrepreneurship Training: An Alternative to Reduce Indonesian Quality Disparity

2018

Abstraksi

The need to access relatively quality education constitutes the basic right of every Indonesian regardless of their residence. Unfortunately, the lack of proper and affordable transportation has worsened the problem leading to disparity of quality life among Indonesians. The role of ICT/internet enabling people to access information without being bordered by time and space has provided another alternative for the government to improve the well-being of their people. The use of ICT, offering some simple yet important skills (hard skills and soft skills), will definitely allow the locals to have different perspective in leading their own life independently. Some entrepreneurship programs (e.g., fish breeding training, chicken breeding, motor cycle workshop training, etc.) which is culturally adjusted to the needs of their own environment will probably encourage them to start developing their own business activities enabling them to be more financially independent, thus reducing economic disparity, as well as preventing the increasingly worsening urbanization in some big cities. Instead of relocating the capital city of Indonesia, the availability of specifically adjusted training program through ICT, which is based on the need analysis of each region/area, supported with its local apparatus providing technical, fund, and other necessary support, will probably drive the locals to start building their own dream to have more equal living standard with the other citizens living across archipelago.
