Effective Strategies in Increasing Productivity

Industrial productivity can be built based on leading values to help improve individual worker ethos as well as the creation of a skilled workforce and a strong industry sector. These values can be inserted into the educational system and worker preparation programs that not only focus on enhancing technical “hard” skills, but also on improving knowledge acquisition and work ethics, or “soft” skills. The upskilling and reskilling of the workforce need to be done as a way to create sustainable productivity, as well as to respond to the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic related to the rapid pace of automation and digitalization, the shifting of global supply networks and ecofriendly development.

Workforce capacity also needs to be improved though developing technical abilities and the ability to adapt to digitalization. Establishing innovation and education ecosystems as proper knowledge hubs is important in shaping a productive, creative workforce that is able to work well with technology and contribute to the creation of added values. Improving the streamlining of innovative systems towards commercialization and usage by the industry is also part of the agenda towards driving up industry productivity.

All of these efforts require cooperation between the government, educational institutions and industries.
